Overview
A journey through three Himalayan lands. In Kathmandu you explore an unforgettable melting pot of Hindu and Buddhist culture at Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Bhaktapur and Patan. A flight across the Himalaya brings you to Lhasa (about 3650 m) for the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Sera and Drepung monasteries, the Mentsikhang Tibetan medicine center and Norbulingka, with an optional excursion over the Kamba La to the turquoise Yamdrok Lake. The tour ends in Bhutan, a kingdom where time seems to have stood still: Thimphu, the 108 chortens of the Dochula, Punakha Dzong, the fertility temple of Chimi Lhakhang and the hike to Tiger's Nest above Paro. Private transport and local guides throughout. All foreigners need a Tibet Travel Permit, and Bhutan charges a daily Sustainable Development Fee.
