Overview
Muktinath, also known as Saligram, is a sacred pilgrimage site held in high regard by both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple stands at about 3710 m with breathtaking Himalayan views and is one of the 108 holiest Vaishnava shrines. Its 108 waterspouts, called Chumig Gyatsa in Tibetan, and the eternal flame of Jwala Mai bring together earth, fire and water; Hindus call it Mukti Kshetra, the place of liberation. The tour begins with the evening aarti ceremony at Pashupatinath and the sacred sites of Kathmandu, then flies from Pokhara to Jomsom and continues by jeep past Kagbeni and the Kali Gandaki gorge to Muktinath for darshan and bathing under the 108 spouts. Back in Pokhara you visit Bindhyabasini, Gupteshwor Cave, Devi's Fall and Tal Barahi, with sunrise from Sarangkot.
