Overview
This challenging trek combines all three high passes of the Everest region with its most iconic highlights. You cross the Kongma La (5535 m), Cho La (5368 m) and Renjo La (5360 m), and visit Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar and Gokyo Ri, with views of four of the world's highest peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. The route makes a complete loop through Sagarmatha National Park, from Namche Bazaar and Tengboche to Dingboche and Chhukung, over to the Khumbu Glacier and Base Camp, across to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes beside the Ngozumpa Glacier, and back via the old Tibetan trade route through Thame. Along the way you meet friendly Sherpa people and pass picturesque villages, monasteries and varied flora and fauna. A trek for fit, experienced walkers.

40-minute flight, then 3-4 hours descending through Cheplung with views of the sacred Khumbila.
5-6 hours crossing the Dudh Koshi several times, with Thamserku views from Benkar and a permit check at the national park entrance.
Short hikes to the Everest View Hotel, Khumjung Monastery, the Hillary School and the national park visitor center.
5-6 hours via Phunki Thanga, climbing to the largest monastery in the Everest region.
5-6 hours through forest to Debuche, crossing the Imja Khola and passing Pangboche Monastery.
Day hike up Nangkartshang hill for views of Makalu, Lhotse, Cholatse, Taboche and Ama Dablam.
6-7 hours through stone-walled fields and glacial moraine, then an afternoon climb of Chhukung Ri with views of Ama Dablam and Amphu Labtsa.
6-7 hours over the highest point of the trip, marked by cairns and prayer flags, then across the Khumbu Glacier to Lobuche.
6-7 hours along the Khumbu Glacier moraine to Base Camp, returning to Gorak Shep.
8-9 hours. Pre-dawn climb for sunrise and close-up views of Everest, then back down to Lobuche.
3-4 hours past Chola Tsho lake and across the Chola Khola to Dzongla.
7-8 hours with a steep boulder scramble to the pass and a crossing of the Ngozumpa, Nepal's longest glacier, to Gokyo beside the third lake.
Climb Gokyo Ri (5357 m) and walk to the fourth and fifth lakes and Scoundrel's Viewpoint for views of Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Makalu.
7-8 hours from Dudh Pokhari over Renjo La with outstanding Everest views, down past the Renjo lakes to Marlung.
5-6 hours along the old Tibetan trade route down the Bhote Koshi via Taranga and Thame with its famous gompa.
6-7 hours through rhododendron and pine forest and Sherpa villages.
About 35 minutes back to Kathmandu.
Transfer to the international airport.
