Overview
An adventure and cultural tour through Bhutan's major regions: Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Wangdue Phodrang, Trongsa and Bumthang. The itinerary covers most of the great cultural sites of the kingdom. After Paro and Thimphu you cross the Dochula to Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang, then the Pele La over the Black Mountains to Trongsa, whose dzong and watchtower guard the route between east and west. In Bumthang, with its four valleys of Chokhor, Tang, Ura and Chhume, you visit Jakar Dzong, Wangdichholing Palace, Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing Goemba and the Burning Lake. The journey returns via the glacial valley of Phobjikha, winter home of black-necked cranes, and ends with the hike to Tiger's Nest.
