Overview
Pelling sits on a ridge in West Sikkim with one of the finest close-up views of Kanchenjunga at sunrise. This tour explores the old heartland of the Sikkimese kingdom: Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important Nyingma monasteries in Sikkim, the ruins of Rabdentse, the second royal capital, and the Sanga Choeling Monastery on the ridge above Pelling. A day trip visits the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, the Kanchenjunga Falls and Yuksom, Sikkim's first capital, where the first Chogyal was crowned at Norbugang in 1642, with a walk to the Dubdi Monastery. In Pelling you can also cross the glass skywalk to the Chenrezig statue.
