Overview
A journey to the Buddhist holy places of the Kathmandu Valley and to Lumbini in the Rupandehi district, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha. In the valley you visit Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Patan and a Tibetan handicraft center, alongside Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur, with a night in Dhulikhel. A short flight to Bhairahawa takes you to Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you visit the Mayadevi Temple marking the spot where Queen Mayadevi gave birth, the Ashoka Pillar erected in 249 BC, the sacred pond and the many international monasteries of the Lumbini Development Zone. The tour can be extended to Chitwan National Park.
